FLOOR & EXHAUST FILTERS
Paint Pockets
Paint Pocket is a dual stage polyester filter rated at 99.84% efficiency @ 10 Micron capturing 6 pounds per square foot while lasting 2-3 times longer than conventional fiberglass filters. Paint Pockets prevent costly maintenance repairs from overspray buildup on fan blades, exhaust stacks and releasing into the environment.

Polyester Pads or Rolls
Polyester filters are a single stage filter that captures 90% of 25 Microns and just over 2 pound per square foot. Effective with all kinds of coatings means an efficient filter medium.
Paper Poly Pads or Rolls
EF filters are composed of 5-7 layers of expanded Kraft Paper. The layered filters capture both single and dual stage paints efficiently at 90% at 10 Microns. It is recommended that you use two layers per exhaust to retain an effective capture capability.
Fiberglass Pads or Rolls
Fiberglass filters are inexpensive, replaceable and designed best for collection of single stage coatings, varnishes and paints. We offer two grades, 15 Gm (Green) and 22 Gm (Yellow). Efficiencies range from 40-60% at 100-300 Microns while capturing from ½ to just over 1 pound per square foot.
PREBURNER & POST EXHAUST FILTERS
PREBURNER FILTERS
Preburner filters are essential in preventing outside contaminants from entering the burner unit and subsequently onto the ceiling filters.
POST EXHAUST FILTERS
Post exhaust filters are your last filter to capture overspray particles before they go past your exhaust fan and the environment. The high paint holding capacity along with a dry tackified media will hold more than normal single stage filters. Whereas many filters range from 40-65%, our multi-pocketed filters capture 90% of both base and clear paints.
DIFFUSION CEILING MEDIA
Filtrair 560GX
Filtrair media is the highest efficient filter along with high temperature capabilities coupled with a low air flow resistance. This combination means a longer lasting filter that allows more heated air flow to get to your freshly painted surface.

How do you determine what filter I would need?
Many filter suppliers only supply what their supplier(s) sells them. At WD Services, we looked at 5 manufacturers that sent us samples to view and test. We looked at each style filter media, performance specifications and pricing. We selected 3 to supply us for your spray booth needs. If you have a Crossdraft, Semidown or Downdraft booth, each filter has the following characteristics. We look at:
- Efficiency – What is the percentage that each filter captures in overspray? Depending on the filter media, some filter ranges from 40-60% while some can capture as high as 99.9%. The efficiency also relates to what particle size is captured.
- Particle Size – Overspray particles range from 4 - 300 micron in size. You need a filter that can capture everything. If the filter is not a quality product, what results is either premature clogging or dirt getting through into the pit and fan blade that will cause premature damage to your fan motors and bearings causing undo damage to your spray booth. It also can cause dirt to get onto your spray job causing redo spray jobs losing you profits.
- Pounds Captured – How many pounds dirt will your filter capture before having to be changed? Some lesser quality filters capture under 1 pound / square foot (SQFT) while some can capture as much as 6 lbs / SQFT.
- Air Flow Resistance – What is the airflow resistance of the filters I use? The denser the filter, the more airflow resistance is created. Multi-layered filters can give you better airflow resistance and efficiency than single layered denser filters. Don’t be fooled by a lesser expensive filter, it may cost you more money by having shorter changing times.
- Longevity – Put all these together and you have longevity of a filter’s life. Some filters can last longer because of how they are manufactured and the material that they use.
- Cost – Not all filters are as expensive as they seem. If you pay 20%, 50% or even 3 times more for a filter that lasts two, three or even four times as long as the cheaper filter, you may save money. Cost is only relative if the filter characteristics listed above are in proportion to the other filter you are using.
- SELECTION OF FILTERS - To select the best filters for you, we will discuss with you the style and make of your booth, type of paint you are using, airflow capabilities of the booth and also the state regulations. Our goal is not only to sell you filters but also to make sure that you feel comfortable that you received the best filters for your equipment. Let us send you a quote for your spray booth equipment that will include our “Good, Better and Best Filters” available.
